The regular monthly meeting of the
Central Toronto Amateur Radio Club, Incorporated
will be held on
Tuesday May 5th, 2015 at 19:30 EST
Leaside Retirement Residence, 10 William Morgan Drive
After the regular business portion of the meeting, a talk and demonstration introducing the basic concepts and modes of operation of digital amature radio will be given by Joe Cooper VE3FMQ. The talk will outline the basic theory of operation of popular digital modes such as RTTY and PSK-31. This will include an overview of how to set up a digital station using "off the shelf" hardware and computer software. The basic operating procedures for operating a digital station will be demonstrated. The aim of the talk will be to provide enough information that someone with little or no knowledge of digital modes will feel confident enough to undertake the setting up of a station using that mode and begin operations.
If you're new to the club (having signed up online), this is a great opportunity to come and see what we're all about.
Sign in at the reception desk just inside the front door of the west wing.
