This event is in the past.
You can paricipate in the ARRL Field Day 2020 on June 27 12:00PM EDT to June 28 12:00PM EDT from the comfort of your own QTH (http://www.arrl.org/field-day). You can make contacts under your own callsign and tag them when uploading to ARRL with the VA3CTA club sign and ARRL will roll up all of the points per club callsign.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be gathering at LRR as in previous years. Therefore you will need to have or create a HF set up that you can operate from your own location. The rules have been modified so that Class D stations (that is, home stations on mains power) can log calls to other Class D stations so this will open up the opportunities to make contacts both locally and DX.
The ARRL strongly encourages you to submit your FD contacts electronically so to that end you should use some sort of logging software to do this. A free logger is N1MM+ (https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com) is available and I will be providing some simple documentation for you to configure it for FD and how to submit the logs to ARRL.
We plan to coordinate/communicate between the CenTor FD particpants using the VA3 ATL repeater on 70cm, 444.7750 MHz with a tone of 110.9 Hz, though in reality you can operate on any frequency in any mode at any time in the 24 hour window as all log sheets are independent of each other.
Those of you interested in participating in FD, please RSVP this event so we can send out additional information to you as FD approaches.
2020 has been full of surprises and this year's FD is no different. Likely there will not be another one like this anytime soon (here's hoping!) so lets make the best of this unique situation! I hope to see as many of you as possible on the air during FD this year.
